Captain Picard vs Doctor Who!

No, it's not a crossover, it's a reminder for UK viewers.

Patrick Stewart is Claudius and David Tennant is Hamlet...

BBC2 Boxing Day 5.05 pm

Waaahhh! I don't get to see it! :(

Isn't David Tennant a little old to be Hamlet, though?

Hamlet is supposed to be 30 years old, always has been. He was never meant to be a young 20-ish man.

Tennant is slightly pushing it at 37, but looks youthful enough.

Not quite as iconic as those two characters/ actors, but it also features Oliver Ford-Davies, who was in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Thus uniting three major sci-fi franchises onscreen.

Saw it in London (the second performance after DT came back so very lucky!) and it was fantastic so it will be interesting to see how it translates. Apparently they are thinking of doing this with other productions - including Patrick Stewart's recent Macbeth which was sensational.

I was looking to see if it would air in the States and sometime in 2010 on PBS's Great Performances, it will. I'm so going to DVR that, since I love both Stewart, Tennant, TNG and Doctor Who. That will be very cool to watch I bet.
