Captain Burnham and Stamets' new job

Uhm, weren't they supposed to pick up their new captain on Vulcan when Pike commandeered the ship for his mission? Unless he or she has been reassigned in the meantime, they are still in the wings to take command once Pike leaves.

I'm really hoping they've forgotten this and the captain is left waiting on Vulcan forever.

I suspect Captain Burnham will be the show's final scene, like Clark Kent becoming Superman in Smallville.

I could see them doing a temporary demotion and putting Admiral Cornwell in charge (*cringe*) or bringing in ReguLorca and making him captain.

Failing that, Balls of Steel Saru. The first captain in Trek who can shoot darts fron his head when sufficiently angry.

I don't know, Cornwell is lack of charisma. Even the Empress Georgiou, Michael Burnham, Tilly and other female casts can beat her in "presence" department.

Maybe they can call William Shatner and let him play as George Kirk as the next captain? Discovery is a science ship, and George Kirk was a scientist. So they fit to each others.

Shatner turned 88 today. I kind of doubt he's up for doing TV again. :)
