Okay, I can't read every comic out there, so would someone please brief me on how the hell he came back to life?

The gun that the Red Skull gave to Sharon was a Dr. Doom-designed time-device that sent his consciousness/life-force/whatever skipping through time, while his body withered and died. The Skull's plan was to bring the life-force back (which draws the body to the same location), and use the body for himself (since he's lacked a body of his own since 2005, when General Lukin's men killed him). Sharon thwarted this process the first time he tried it; the second time he succeeded, but Steve succeeded in regaining control of his body.

I don't really see the problem; it's a straight tribute to Slaughterhouse-Five (the first issue of Reborn even has a line declaring "Steve Rogers is unstuck in time"). Wasn't Brubaker's strongest arc on the title, though (I'm really looking forward to the New Cap vs. Baron Zemo arc that starts in May).
