I read through the rest of that thread superfast and no those aren't yours. Too many Kilowogs. Truly astounding collection. I had no idea GL was so big all over the world. When I was reading GL in the early 80s and 90s I thought I was one of only give guys who loved GL. Glad to see I was wrong.

Stepping aside from GL do you have a Flash collection?

I'm disappointed in beaker. I thought he knew this stuff.

I was reading comics in the 70s - always thought of Cap as pushing 40. To me he was always the elder statesman of the superhero set.

I think beaker would rather have a walking 35 or 40 year-old behemoth in the role with no required acting prowess. Who cares if he can act... the most important thing is if he matches the comic-book exactly!

You might want to check some of my posts. My requirements when it comes to acting skills are rather stringent.

Hayley's official, SHH has it from Marvel. they've also reversed the title. it's now The First Avenger: Captain America.

still just gonna call it 'Captain America'...

This makes sense, as it makes the international marketing with the emphasis on First Avenger as the title a little smoother....

I think that The First Avenger: Captain America has a sort of X-Men Origins feel to it. That's all right though. It seems as if the entire point of the MMU is to provide a foundation for an Avengers franchise and naming it The First Avenger is simply good business.

According to reports, now that Joss Whedon is going to be doing The Avengers he's also doing a last-minute polish of the script for Captain America.

Based on this board, "Academy Award winner" and "Academy Award nominee" only means something if the posters already like the artist, otherwise they'll come up with reason after reason to hate the person.

True. Even I've got my beefs with Joss. I like him as a writer. Don't like him as a director. But I would never tell him no if he wanted to write a movie for me.

Really? Why would anyone get upset about Joss working on this movie? It's not like he doesn't know anything about comics or writing movies.

Lets do as we've been doing and keep our focus on the topic, cause we are awesome like that.

Since Cap is obviously going to be a key player in Avengers it does make sense for there to be some cohesiveness betweeen First Avnenger:Captain America and the Avengers film. Having the same guy, Whedon in this case, give input will help prevent jarring...in theory at least. You still have IM and Thor to account for but my faith is high until it need not be.

With Jon Favreau producing I'm sure he'll make sure Iron Man is kept in character. I'd also be surprised if Branagh doesn't have any imput into how Thor is presented in Avengers.

There aren't a whole lot of obvious roles left to cast, though I'm expecting there'll be somebody playing one of the first two Union Jacks (since there are a few more Invaders, and he's the most obvious one to be included).

Be interested to see if we get any famous cameo roles, like FDR.

Nope. Aside from the group collections I just have mass collections of cap, wolverine, thor, batman and superman. Otherwise, I have 1-3 of most everyone else in the Marvel and DC universes. I also have some rare and/or inordinately expensive statues of wolverine, batman and iron man.
Plus a life-sized bust of Wolvie.
yeah, that's sick even by my standards.

It's getting reported that Joss will not only do a rewrite of the Avengers screenplay, but also polish the Captain America script.

Joss Whedon really has a shared custody thing going when it comes to The First Avenger and Avengers since they're sharing the same lead character. Best sure Cap speaks when the same voice from film to film. I just hope Joss doesn't contemporize the WWII era Cap too much.

I'm liking the news on Joss polishing the Captain America script. It does make sense for the reasons indicated above.
