Captain’s Holiday

Why is the episode Captain’s Holiday not called Captain’s Vacation or The Captain’s Vacation? IIRC, at the beginning of the episode the crew kept telling Picard that he needs to go on a vacation, not on a holiday like the English like to say. In fact, doesn’t Picard call it a vacation too? If not, perhaps you could argue that in the future the French will not only speak with English accents, but will use the word holiday instead of vacation.

When you say Captain’s Holiday it makes me think of Captain Picard’s Day from the episode The Pegasus. After all, Captain Picard’s Day is the Captain’s holiday!!

In Britain a vacation is referred to as a "holiday". Also I assume the title is a play on the phrase "Busman's Holiday".

The episode would have been hilariously better if it was Star Trek TNG meets National Lampoon's Vacation.

I loved it when Riker was playing with the Picard doll in "The Pegasus," and started walking off with it! Usually, I despise it when STAR TREK references itself with a wink at the audience, but in this case, I have to admit, it was charming and amusing ...

Were those Arts & Crafts in Picard's likeness contributed by the kids of the actors and crew and so on? Or were they all a product of the Prop Department? Some of them seem very genuine to me, like what a kid would've really come up with ...
