capt ronald tracey & sybok in next trek film (xii)

Has anyone noticed the resemblance between Cumberbatch and the actor Lawrence Montaine who played the Vulcan named Stonn in Amok Time as well as the Romulan Officer 'Decius' in Balance Of Terror???

A little tidbit. The writers did say a while back that we would see a recognizable character from the first season of the original series. Balance of Terror was released in 1966

But who will play his wispy, barely-glued-on beard that gets thicker or thinner depending on the scene?

Cumberbatch is gonna play Lazarus.

You get the gold crown of hideous suggestions for that one!!

Everyone hates Sybok (except me and apparently cooleddie) and I think the chance of him ever showing up again is zilch BUT..

Would they actually do it as some kind of Spock/Brother tension thing?

"There are hardly any of us left Spock, we must embrace as brothers.."

All of a sudden this seems possible. A Sybok reboot.

How about a TIME-TRAVELING Sybok robot that is addicted to hard narcotics? Trek's always needed an artificial life form that loves to do lines of Peruvian blow and go back to 1968 to change history by killing the Smothers Brothers.

How about Kirk and Co. discover the guardian of Forever, and Kirk tries to use it to undo Nero's coming back in time, however he runs into Lazarus who is trying to regain his time ship from the Borg converted Sybok before it can be assimilated and used by the Borg Queen (now T'Pol after Enterprise was assimilated) to destroy Janeway.

Then Spock can have him arrested for multiple violations of the Miss Universe Pageant rules. The he hijacks the Enterprise and takes the ship on one long-ass beer run to the center of the galaxy.

Think SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT. Only with pointy-eared robots who do drugs.

But the first Borg Queen right? Who turns out to be cybernetic Porthos, kept alive for decades past his prime by Archer, then mutated beyond all reason by Scotty's transporter accident? (ETA: Oh, OK, I see you went a less realistic direction, with T'Pol.)

A Smokey and the Bandit/Star Trek crossover? Who could do Buferd T Justice, though?

Oliver Platt.

I want him to play Harry Mudd. But in lieu of that, let him be Starfleet Commodore Buford Tiberius Justice. And give him an idiot son who travels with him and makes stupid remarks every five minutes. This is GOLD, I'm tellin' ya! GOLD!!!

Idiot son, sounds like a role for Justin Bieber, get that tween market in the seats.

A cybernetic Porthos would rock. He could poop a rare element like the black matter Nibbler defecates on FUTURAMA. The crew could use Cyberthos's turds to help power their warp engines past factor 9.9, which results in Chekov devolving into a horny salamander.

Yes, now we're using words like "mutate" and "devolve" the Star Trek way.

I'm diggin' Commodore Justice, btw.

Heck, just get Oliver Platt for anything. He'd be a good Cyrano Jones too, for that matter.
