Canon character deaths (Contain "before dishonor" SPOILERS )

Which canon (with my understanding that film/TV characters are canon) characters have died in the books or have a final fate outlined? Off the top of my head:

Chekov = Still around in at least 2380?

Uhura = Still around in at least 2380?

Sulu = Old age?

Kirk = dead/alive depending on which books you read ;)

janeway = Dead.

Before KRAD comes along with a complete list, I will say:

Lieutenant Kieran Duffy (TNG: Hollow Pursuits & mentioned in Tapestry) killed at Galvan VI saving the crew of the SCE ship da Vinci.

Lian T'su (TNG: Arsenal of Freedom) killed at Galvan VI commanding the USS Orion when alien life forms killed her and her crew.

There are others I believe, but I can only think of those two.

I haven't read that - old age?

Yes, one of his deaths in the novel is because of old age. :D

Re: Canon character deaths (Contain "before dishonor" SPOILE

Although one of the Tales of the Dominion War stories has him alive at the time of the Breen attack.

Indeed. Crucible may kill people, but as far as the other books are concerned said trilogy didn't happen.

Re: Canon character deaths (Contain "before dishonor" SPOILE

Among the canon characters who have been iced in the fiction:

Azetbur: The Lost Era: Serpents Among the Ruins
Kieran Duffy: SCE: Wildfire Book 2
Amanda Grayson: TOS: Sarek and TOS: Crucible: Spock: The Fire and the Rose
Mr. Homn: "The Ceremony of Innocence is Drowned" (Tales of the Dominion War)
Katherine Janeway: TNG: Before Dishonor
Jaresh-Inyo: Articles of the Federation
Kargan: "A Song Well Sung" (Tales of the Dominion War)
Intendant Kira: DS9: Warpath
Kornan: GKN: Honor Bound
K'Vada: GKN: Honor Bound
Mendak: Articles of the Federation
Leonard McCoy: TOS: Crucible: McCoy: Provenance of Shadows
Kyle Riker: TNG: A Time to Hate
Shakaar Edon: DS9: Mission Gamma: Cathedral
Sirella: DS9: The Left Hand of Destiny Book 2
T'Pau: TOS: Spock's World
Ian Troi: The Lost Era: The Art of the Impossible
Lian T'su: SCE: Wildfire Book 1
Vekma: TNG: A Time to Kill
Worf (from Star Trek VI): The Lost Era: The Art of the Impossible

It's possible I've forgotten some others....

 What did I tell you? It was only a matter of time. ;)

Re: Canon character deaths (Contain "before dishonor" SPOILE

Technically, Ian Troi's death occurred onscreen first, it's only in the novel that we found out *how*. :p

And they killed off Vekma? Oh damn. :( She was hot.

Notice that he alphabetized them, too.

What a guy!
I know *sigh*

It could be worse, he could be a Star Wars fan.

Technically, it didn't. We knew he was dead, but not how. Same for Amanda, actually.

Yup. After surviving the bloodbath in Honor Bound, the Mack Daddy went and bumped her off at Tezwa..... :)

Re: Canon character deaths (Contain "before dishonor" SPOILE

So I was curious as to which of us was the biggest murdering bastard, so of those on the list, here's how it breaks down by author.

List not quite definitive, as I may have forgotten a canon character or two who'd been knocked off....

Keith R.A. DeCandido - 7
David Mack - 4
David R. George III - 3
Robert Greenberger - 2
A.C. Crispin - 1
Peter David - 1
Diane Duane - 1
J.G. Hertzler & Jeffrey Lang - 1
Michael A. Martin & Andy Mangels - 1

Wow. I'm the biggest murdering bastard. Go fig'. Take that, "angel of death"!!!!!!! :guffaw:

(To be fair, most of mine are Klingons. They're a lot bigger on that whole death thing. OTOH, I did knock off Homn and Jaresh-Inyo....)

Re: Canon character deaths (Contain "before dishonor" SPOILE

Hmmm ... I killed off one of Janeway and Paris' salamander kids -- Neelix. ("On the Rocks" SNW V)

Were they tasty?

Re: Canon character deaths (Contain "before dishonor" SPOILE

If alternate universes count, my Myriad U novel will give the reigning Angels of Death a run for their money...

I had a feeling about you, Leisner . . . you seem like such a nice guy, but there's a certain glimmer in your eyes . . .

Salamander spawn marinated in yamok sauce . . . yummy! I like them wrapped in bacon.
