Last man Standing isn't awful, it's just a Tim Allen Project up to Tim Allen's standards, which isn't an awful thing if you think of the lower standards of other B-Listers out there.

Although I was about to boycott it for homophobia until I giggled.

"If my grandson goes to that kindergarten he'll grow up to be dancing on a float!"

"And what's wrong with that Dad?!!"

"The only a time a man should dance is when some one is shooting at his feet."

I found myself REALLY enjoying LMS until I realized based on my recent history that was probably the kiss of death for the show. So I was pleasantly surprised see that it had decent ratings. Now I'm just praying they don't slip into oblivion next week.

Voted for Last Man Standing. I actually watched it out of curiosity last night and it was terrible. I feel for Tim Allen. He seems a bit like Kelsey Grammer in terms of luck. Maybe they should team-up together for something.

Funny that two people voted for Last Man Standing after its premiere ratings were available and which make it clear that it's not going to be the next show cancelled.

By the same token, I think it's equally funny that people were saying it was the next show to be cancelled when it hadn't even aired yet. I think there was (for whatever reason) a lot of wishful thinking going on in those predictions.

I don't know why people get so wound up about this show or that show "should be cancelled." The way I figure we all have the power to cancel any show we don't like by simply not watching it. And if other people DO like it, well good for them.

I'm one of the people who liked it. I have no idea whether it will last or not, if it's as terrible as Owain seems to think it is, well it will take care of itself eventually. OR maybe, just maybe, there will be enough people like me that liked and it will continue. Those who don't like it, well just don't watch it.

Home Improvement was an abomination.

We had three TV stations in the entire country, and they still syndicated this fuck show for ten years in the 7pm timeslot when I wanted to sit down and eat dinner.

Fool me Once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Eh, I just voted for what I felt didn't stand a chance after having watched it. To me it, felt like a tired sitcom that didn't bring anything new, so for me it's not something I'll be watching. It's simply not going to rock my boat. And for what it's worth, I loved Home Improvement.

Well after the curiousity factor wears off, next week the viewing public might feel like that and it may drop off. Well it's almost sure to drop, I guess the question becomes how much will it drop off. I did read they adjusted ratings up slightly and if I understand them (and I freely admit I might have misunderstood) it looks like in terms of the "demo numbers" that are important, it was second for the night, and third in total viewers. So it really got off to a rousing start ratings wise.

Personal opinion of a show's quality isn't a good basis for predictions about what's likely to fall to early cancellation. Last Man Standing may drop and end up as a first season cancellation, but it got off to a strong enough start that it's not going to be the next show cancelled. In fact it'll probably get a full season order.

And speaking of full season orders, ABC has given Revenge and Suburgatory back nine orders.

It may not be, but people should be free to express their opinions all the same. It's why we have discussion boards. Seeing varied opinions is great. It's like a canvas of the internet. It's why we're all here, isn't it? I don't think we'd all be here if we couldn't share opinions and discuss things in like-minded manners. Besides, I never predicted anything, just stated my opinion which I should be allowed to do.

I like Tim Allen. I really do, and I've even stuck out for those movies he's done, so I wish him luck. I just don't think it's his best effort, but like all shows, it may improve.

The problem with Suburgatory is that it's a really weak version of Awkward which is a less funny version of The Hard Times of RJ Berger which is a small screen version Porkys.

How can you go from a YOUNG nude Kim Katral to "Suburgatory" and not expect some loss of definition via the degrees of separation?

Of course Suburgatory gets a ratings plus for being "safe" which is cheating.

Well, the poll is asking for predictions as to what will be cancelled next, so by stating what you voted for it seemed like you were making a prediction rather than just stating an opinion as to the show's quality.

Of course you can give any opinion you want on a discussion board, but likewise it's in the nature of back and forth discussion for me to point out that an opinion on a show's quality isn't a good basis upon which to predict whether that show is likely to be the next one cancelled (which is what the poll is about and what I naturally assumed you were answering).

Well, if that's the case, no need to get bent out of shape over two little votes. Polls are just another matter of public opinion in any case.

Heroes: Public outcry over the change in direction, less people started watching, which led to a decline in ratings, which led to a cancellation.

I'm not bent out of shape in the least. I'm just making conversation.

There's not a fixed correlation between quality and ratings. Plenty of good shows die early deaths and plenty of lousy shows achieve great ratings success and longevity. Pointing out individual cases where quality and ratings can be said to go hand in hand doesn't negate that, nor does it contradict the point that an 8.00pm sitcom that premiered to a 3.6 in the demo is highly unlikely to drop off fast enough in the ratings to be the next show cancelled this season.
