Can Jack really not kill himself?

Jack has survived two plane crashes, a nuclear bomb, dynamite, a ruptured appendix on an island, and a near suicide attempt. I think he's gonna live forever.

Everyone has mentioned Michael... but anyone else remember when Jack pointed a gun in Locke's face and pulled the trigger and nothing happened?

Yeah, but Locke told Jack the gun wasn't loaded.

Just rewatched the first few episodes of season three. Jack grabs Juliet, takes her out of his cage, makes for his daring escape. He tells her to open up the door with the huge airlock wheel, she tells him they'll die if she does. He opens it, water floods the room and knocks him down. Juliet take him to another room, helps him shut the door against the rushing current. Then she punches him in the face and he plunged into the water unconscious.

When he wakes up and sees Juliet he says....

"We're under water, aren't we?"
