Can I run Windows 7 using Leopard/Bootcamp 2.1?

What drivers issues are there? I know 3.0 fully (sic) supports Windows 7, but what issues are there under Mac OS X 10.5?

Try http://forums.macrumors.com/, there might be some threads about this.
You can also use MRoogle to search those forums.

Boot Camp 3.0 has no official Windows 7 support, Boot Camp 3.1 (released earlier this year) does provide support for Windows 7.

Snow Leopard can be acquired for 29 USD or 25€, if you don't get it running via Leopard.

It's a work thing. I have a spare license for Windows 7 but not for Snow Leopard.

Just seeing if it were possible with minimal headaches. Cheers.

It is. I ran Windows 7 on Leopard with BootCamp 2.1, and it's rather easy to get going too.

Well, I got to the point where I put the Leopard disc back in to install the bootcamp drivers and it threw an error saying it had to be either XP or Vista.

It's not a biggie as it does work but at the moment there's a couple of thing that don't work, such as keyboard shortcuts.

I didn't use the Leopard disc. I downloaded the 2.1 drivers separately in one bundle. Worked flawlessly.

Cheers, will try that instead.

Hello Candlelight,
Have you checked compatibility?
Just an FYI for you.
It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.
Check out the Windows 7 Compatibility site: (There you will find out about hardware and software compatibilty.)
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx
There is a pulldown from which you can choose "hardware" and "software".
There are also some great articles, instructional videos and such to help with your Windows 7 at our Springboard site:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/default.aspx
In any event a lot of the times, Vista drivers will work in lieu of Windows 7 drivers, however, it's not 100%!
As stated previously, it's best to have the Windows 7 certified drivers installed.
Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5 . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assitance and support.
Thanks again,

I didn't realize this was such an old thread. Definitely suspicious. However, it seems he did answer the question in the OP.
