Can I get some help from a Star Trek online player with my new comic?

I have a series of online Star Trek comics, you can see them here...

http://startrekanimated.com/tas_comic_main.html

For my latest story I need a number of alien characters, of a new race. I know that on the online Star Trek game you can create aliens and whole new races. What I need is someone to create a race, and then several characters of that race (using various hair styles, colors, noses, ears etc), then take screen_captures covering all angles of all characters, that I can then use to draw the characters in comic book form.

Anybody willing to help me out?

Thanks!

Kail

Re: Can I get some help from a Star Trek online player with my new com

I'm waiting for a graphics card to arrive for my birthday so I can try out the STO demo (my PC is quite old). I want to take some screen captures of the upcoming TMP uniforms in a similar way to your idea but I want to see if they're any use alongside movie stills for creating a webcomic to upload onto Youtube. I don't know what the limitations of the builder are in terms of poses and emotes though. I don't like the STO Saurians though - I think I'd prefer to buid one from scratch.

Im sorry to say you cant create a actual new race in Star trek online, you can only take a existing Trek based race that's available in the game and mess about with its look, size and appearance and stats, plus even if that was ok somebody would also have to buy extra character slots for each of those 7 other extra characters as ST online only start you off with a few free character slots.

That's disappointing; I thought you could design your own race, albiet with limits on the in-game benefits you could assign. I've noticed that some races get packages that you have to pay for like Tellarites, Caitians, etc. I wouldn't want to use their in game Saurian though - it looks nothing like the Saurians from TMP.

Can you not play around in the builder and print screenshots at various angles before you save the character and if so, does that involves a static pose or can you experiment with the emotes?

^^^You can spin your character round 360 degrees and zoom in and out for the head and face details, but that's about it, but i have no idea if thats any good to the OP as they seem to be looking for new races and not a mishmass of Trek races already avalible in Trek onine.

You can create 'aliens' - but again, you do so by using the parts from other existing races - so anything you make will always be a humanoid biped of some type. Also, you can easily create a character; take all the screencaps you need in the crew lounge at the start of the tutorial, and delete the character if you don't want to use a character slot.

He looks fun! I think Rhaandarites are supposed to grow up to 9 feet tall as well. Mind you, the ladies in short skirts don't adopt a very demure stance when sitting down do they? One can almost see their tribbles. It's a shame you can't pose characters in the builder though - I need a male and female template body to work from.

I know there are limits to the type of aliens that can be created, but I think even with those limitations, you could still create a new race. A different nose bump here, different hairline there, just combining know attributes with each other should be sufficient.
