Can Data FART?

I was watching TNG last night with my son, who is four. And my son farted. We laughed, and plugged our noses, and then he asked me, with all the naivety of a four year old, if Data could Fart. I didn't ever think of it before...

So...you DATA buffs, can he...pass gas? And if so...does it smell???

OKay, maybe it didn't come through. What I am asking is this..can data's farts smell? Meaning, if he farts can Wesley or Picard smell it. And if he doesn't eat food, and can still pass gas, what does it smell like? Penzoil?

I think the TNG fabric has fart-filtering qualities. Whether Data can pinch a loaf has been pondered http://trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=42156 as of late.
Along those lines, I'm going to say that when he does fart, it smells like a puff of vanilla sceneted air freshener, with a slight hint of burned plastic.

He rarely eats, and doesn't necessarily digest in the same way we do (since he doesn't gain nutrition from food). Sure he can most likely "poop," but I don't think he's capable of generating (and passing) gas.
