Can cops pull over other cops?

This thread makes me think of the ending of the Monty Python Argument Clinic sketch.

I work next door to a police station. Today, I was walking through the parking lot on the way back from lunch when a police officer switched on his lights and siren to drive about 30 feet through the otherwise-empty parking lot. :wtf:

I guess he didn't want to wait for us to cross in front of him.

Sounds like a test of the lights and siren to me

Yes, yes they can. My beer-and-donut-gutted, regulation-mustache-wearing pig of a cop of a brother-in-law worries about this when he's driving around with a beer in his hand.

The Police Department I worked for, their policy states that even when running lights and sirens, an emergency vehicle must stop at a red light before proceeding through the intersection.

And yes they can, one of the officers cited the Sheriff of another county for making a left turn on a red light, the Sheriff was not running lights and sirens.
