Can anyone tell me the names of these novels?

There are a couple of novels I read quite a few years back that I can't remember the titles, or the authors of, of and I was hoping someone would recognise them.

1) London is hit by a huge wave (or a flood). Most of the Royal Family is missing or dead as Buckingham Palace is among the thousand of buildings destroyed. Princess Anne, who was holidaying in Scotland, takes over as Head of State and helps with the relief effort. A couple of weeks later an shell-shocked woman is found wandering through the ruins of London and is identified as the Queen. Lots more happened in this book, the Royal Family's plight was only a small part of it.

2) Killer moths plague England.

And iI would appreciate if anyone can recommend similar books (excluding those by John Wyndham, John Christopher and HG Wells as I have read most of their works). I want stories that are set in England.

Neither ring a bell, I'm afraid...

I can recommend a short story for you, though, called England Underway by Terry Bisson. It's a quirky little fantasy set in a small English seaside town.

A good novel set in England is Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. It's a fairly gothic fantasy, and the London setting is integral to the story.

Check out "Mindstar Rising" by Peter F. Hamilton. It's not a disaster novel per se, but it's set in a near-future England transformed by global warming.
