camelot vs merlin

:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: merlin tonight :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

arthur goes after a golden trident . does anyone know where this comes from ? or is this a copy of the golden fleece which is a greek epic .

Why does it have to be from somewhere? Though in Arthurian terms any object of a quest should be compared to the Grail. ;)

Looks like this one is based on the Fisher King which is part of thr Arthurian legends. The trident would seem to be a substitute for the Grail. Of course the knight Percival is the central figure most tellings of the Fisher King.

yeah celtic mytholgy go figure . also was'nt percival the knight who found the grial in excalibur ? and was the last surviving knight of the round table?
either way this weeks merlin was good and I had never herd of the fisher king .

:lol::lol: Now I know and knowing is half the battle :lol::lol:

thanks for the link still learning arthurian mythology .

I think it was Percival in Excalibur. Other versions have Galahad as the knight worthy of the Grail.

You know, Merlin really needs to tell Arthur that Morganna is evil now. She's only trying to kill him every other week!

At least Gwen has finally caught on . . . .

I would like to see more of young mordred . and who is this new warlord that been popping up this season ?

He'd also have to tell Arthur how he knows which would let Arthur know that Merlin is a wizard in training.

True, that's a problem. But the current status quo, in which Morgana routinely tries to get Arthur killed every other week, is untenable. Plus, Morgana doesn't know Merlin is a wizard yet, so he could just pretend to have stumbled onto the truth by mortal means--like Gwen did.

Even if they don't tell Uther, Arthur would still be able to watch his back . . . .

I think arthur has his suppesions of merlin but does'nt say anything cause of uther .
Remmber season two when he help merlin's famliy . merlin's friend sacrifised himself to protect merlin and his secret . But arthur gave him credit for using magic for good but, giving merlin an odd look.

Merlin tonight focous's on Gaius . Now is Gaius a arthurian character or something for the show ?

Pretty sure he's made up for the show. In some ways he's like the Merlin seen in other versions.

another new episode this week focous on gwen . I LIKE morgana she's a hotty . why are all the hotties on tv allways evil ?

I don't know how Morgana expects to keep her plans secret with that evil grin permanently plastered on her face. You would think people would find it distracting by now.

Yeah, I love that Gwen actually caught one of Morgana's evil smirks for once!

You know, I had to stop and rack my memory, but, no, I don't think I've ever done anything Arthurian yet.

True confession: I actually tried writing an Arthurian novel back around 1984, but abandoned it after it got savaged in a writing workshop. This was my second stab at a novel, long before I actually sold a book!

As I recall, it was told from the POV of Arthur's court jester . . . .

Speaking of Arthurian books, have you read Firelord by Parke Godwin? I remember really liking that one . . . .
