"Calvin & Hobbes" Book Delayed

Well, I had pre-ordered Looking for Calvin and Hobbes: The Unconventional Story of Bill Watterson and His Revolutionary Comic Strip and it was supposed to ship today, then I get a note from Amazon.com and it's now delayed anywhere from mid-November to mid-January.

I've been getting lots of press releases about this book. It certainly sounds interesting (and the sample chapter I read was quite good), so it's unfortunate that it's been delayed.

Yeah, I would have done that at the time but I was running out the door then.

Having read up on the book, it sounds very cool. I'll have to check it out when it actually comes out.

Oh, I've long since given up the ghost on new Calvin & Hobbes material. No way that's ever going to happen (and ultimately that's probably a good thing).

There probably won't ever be any more Calvin & Hobbes-- which may or may not be a good thing-- but it also looks like there will never be anything else from Watterson. Which is a real shame, because he is a huge talent, and a man of great conviction (even if I don't always agree with him).

There's nothing on the Amazon listing that says there's a delay (at either .com or .ca) and there's at least one buyer review...

I hope you're right. My e-mail said shipping would be delayed to between November and January. Maybe if I try re-ordering it, it'll be different.

Must get this book.

Just hoping it's not a mild hatchet job like Schulz and Peanuts.
