$Calculate the loss of Productivity$

I am guilty as are one or two other posters of posting on-job. One wonders - maybe I'm the only one - how much this costs employers in terms of lost productivity? Reading, lurking, posting, looking up actor bios and such on other sites, shopping for things Trek related. Those would be numbers to present to CBS and Pocket Books the impact Trekkies/Trekkers have on thier world.

Oh this is costing alright...and that's the way I want it -- for the moment...I need to do a little company payback for some mistreatment that came my way so fuck em. Also my boss doesn't know his ass from his elbow...so no matter how little work I do...it's still 100% more than him. I post...do some work...post, do some work....so everybody's happy and I'll be on here less when the dust settles ( I think)....But yeah charge me...I'm guilty and lovin' every minute of it ! :techman:

There's days I've probably spend half my time at work browsing the board. On the upside, its been days when I wasn't feeling too productive anyway.

Don't tell anyone, though. :shifty:

Thanks Be to the Great Bird for the anonymity of the internet . . .

Does this really belong in the Trek XI forum, though?

M', works at home and always on the clock

Sorry, my reasoning was that the movie has generated such an outburst of interest in Star Trek there has been an explosion of activity on the BBS and many other on-line communities. I debated starting on the General Thread, too. Of course it's entirely at your discretion to move it.

Since I work a professional job and can take a break whenever I want, I suppose this isn't "costing" the company anything, as I still get all my work done. I think workers who feel like they have some freedom in the matter are more productive, anyway. If you feel like an oppressed drone, you are going to act like one. If you don't feel chained and abused, odds are you'll work better anyway, even if you kill a few minutes here and there on non-work-related stuff.

Taken in that light, I'll leave it here for the time being and see how it goes.

Personally, I think it's a good topic for the forum. My husband has been very good about me being in here so much the last few weeks; I was smart enough to knock off to make him lunches.

I'll have to keep out of here; not a spoiler fan. Is that going to happen soon?
