"Cabin in the Woods" Pushed Back Again

Everyone might have forgotten about this movie considering that it was originally supposed to come out this year...but Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard's horror flick "Cabin in the Woods" is a victim of MGM's current restructuring process and has been pushed back...as has "Red Dawn". It was going to be out Jan 11. It was originally pushed back because the studio wanted it done in 3D.

Yeah Joss was borderline pissed off with that dictate...and so was I since I was really looking forward to seeing the film and still am. I should clarify, I meant Jan 11, 2011.

Poor Joss - even his movies get "canceled"! :p
Speaking of which, with Mary Parent gone from Universal (...to MGM...), Joss needs to find himself a new "in" over there so Goners can move forward when he's finished with The Avengers.

"Cabin in the Woods"? Seriously?

All I know is it stars Amy Acker and is written & directed by Joss Whedon, so will therefore be awesome :D

It also features other Whedon alumni Fran Kranz (Dollhouse's Topher) and Tom Lenk (Buffy's Andrew) along with Chris 'Thor' Hemsworth

[...] directed by Joss Whedon [...]
Incorrect. Drew Goddard directed, based on the script written by himself and Whedon. Goddard is a Mutant Enemy Productions alum (Buffy and Angel), as well as a Bad Robot Productions alum (Alias and Lost). He also wrote the script for Cloverfield.

In addition to the other cast names you've mentioned, Cabin stars Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford (Josh Lyman from The West Wing). I'm actually more excited about Whitford's involvement than anyone else.

^ This is correct. Read the script several months ago and highly enjoyed it but it so wasn't what I was expecting from Joss...

While I knew about Drew Goddard's and Amy Acker's involvement, I had no idea Fran Kranz, Chris Hemsworth, or Bradley Whitford were in this. Now I really want this movie to come out....!

Oh boy...if they didn't even convert it then maybe when this Spyglass thing is approved maybe they'll push up "Cabin in the Woods" up.
