C.J.'s New Project - Revamping the Federation Class

I think it looks fantastic...

Why not try a variant with 3 nacelles though, just to see how it looks? I'm still wanting to get back to my Vengeance model and do a 3 nacelle version just to see.

Once I finish the ship, I was planning to do that. I guess I forgot to mention it in the previous post.

Good progress :)

where did your pics of Ent B and A from?

Google Images, just search "USS Enterprise Scale Ref Sheet" I take no credit for those. TO the artist who did those, they are excellent pieces of work, and at a 1:2500 scale. So it made it really easy to calculate the length of my ship.

Amazing work, beautiful ship. Perfect example of an intermediate class.

Are there any examples of two different classes having the same lead ship name? If not, maybe make the class name different for this beauty. It would stop all the Federation class was a dreadnaught comparisons.

The Federation 3 nacelle design has been around a long time, nearly 40 years.

I searched but didnt find them doing that.

If you can please post links to where you found them :)

Still not sold on the shuttlebays, but the rest is great. :)

Have you considered making them either shallower and sloping akin to the Ent-B's engines (I think they were originally intended as extra shuttlebays?), or maybe similar in style to the ones on the rear of the Miranda/Reliant et.al?

I think part of the problem is how they present such a harsh flat face on the aft of the saucer, where the rest is relatively streamlined.

Yes!! You hit what I've been thinking right on the nose! The primary hull shuttlebays are too blocky for my taste, and they really hurt her otherwise sleek profile!

True, but as he put it, Franz Joseph's design never appeared on screen, so according to one fan circle, his design isn't canon, giving CJ the right to do whatever the hell he wants with the design.

Wait, what the hell am I saying!? Why the hell should I be playing the devil's advocate!?:wtf:
I have just as much right to completely disregard a design that is contradicting another design that has been around for decades, and is considered by many to be semi-canon!:p I have a right to hate it for that very reason alone.
But I'm not a jerk like that either. Or am I?

Naw, I could just consider this to be an alt timeline Federation class. Either way, for me, Franz Joseph's Federation class will always be the canon design. But at the very least, that doesn't mean I not going to be appreciating this for the art that she is, nor does that mean that I shouldn't give my input as a fellow artist:D

But yeah, three nacelle version all the way!
