It's too bad it didn't occur to Starfleet's intelligence division that since Data was the only living person who had created a functional Soong type android, maybe he should accompany Lal back to Earth.

Maybe more of an unlikely pairing, but Data and Odo. Data has liked roleplaying as Sherlock Holmes, therefore it would be fun to see them as a detective duo.
