Bushisms

Wasn't it Reagan who asked, "Where would this country be without this great land of ours?"

Huh? (/:-)

No, he deserves to be in the top 10. Even with some economic problems here and there.
Here and there? They are HERE brother!!

I read this one on BBC News yesterday.

George W Bush said:
"That's George Washington, the first president, of course. The interesting thing about him is that I read three - three or four books about him last year. Isn't that interesting?"
Speaking to reporter Kai Diekmann, Washington DC, 5 May, 2006
It really makes you wonder just what is going on in the man's mind. :wtf:

Makes me wonder who/what the hell you are talking about and where the link is to prove/support yourt quote.

None of that tops one misstatement made by future President Ronald Reagan in the late 1970s.

What did that crusty old senile bastard sprew?

In the late 1970s, Ronald Reagan was addressing a conference of "Third World" nations.

He said

"The United States has much to offer the Third World War."

I don't remember any other details, but it was said he repeated that line something like six times in the speech.

Yet more Bush-isms:

"The American people are proud to welcome Your Majesty back to the United States, a nation you've come to know very well. After all you've dined with 10 U.S. Presidents. You've helped our nation celebrate its bicentennial in 17... in 1976." -- Welcoming Queen Elizabeth II

"If you're a single mother with two children, which is the toughest job in America as far as I'm concerned, and you're working hard to put food on your family."

"And so, in my State of the... my State of the Union... or state... my speech to the nation, whatever you want to call it... speech to the nation... I asked Americans to give 4,000 years... 4,000 hours over the next... the rest of your life... of service to America. That's what I asked. 4,000 hours."

"We're concerned about AIDS inside our White House, make no mistake about it."

"I hope the ambitious realize that they are more likely to succeed with success as opposed to failure."

"The war on terror involves Saddam Hussein because of the nature of Saddam Hussein, the history of Saddam Hussein, and his willingness to terrorize himself."

"Families is where our nation finds hope. Where wings take dream."

"America needs a military where our breast and brightest are proud to serve."

A final toast to George W. Bush

His presidency has been er.... controversial to say the least. A lot of people will be happy to see him go, or maybe "ecstatic" would be the proper term to properly express their feelings.

Me? I personally am a little sad to see him leave. Did I like him? No. Was he a great president? Certainly not. Did he create misery in people's lives through action and inaction? Most definitely yes.

But still in spite of all that he did make us laugh...

"For every fatal shooting, there were roughly three non-fatal shootings. And, folks, this is unacceptable in America. It's just unacceptable. And we're going to do something about it." —George W. Bush, Philadelphia, Penn., May 14, 2001
"The ambassador and the general were briefing me on the — the vast majority of Iraqis want to live in a peaceful, free world. And we will find these people and we will bring them to justice." —George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Oct. 27, 2003
More Bushisms at Defending Mr. Bush

How will you remember our dearly departing leader?

Re: A final toast to George W. Bush
