Bush just said goodbye!

Worst. President. Ever. in regards to President George W. Bush should never have anything they post again ever considered seriously.

Neither should people who say he was a good President. Of course, those people aren't taken seriously now so we'd just be maintaining the status quo.

You know, in this or other threads, I have never read any of your posts that ever present an argument or anything other than nonsensical drivel that usually tries to insult other users.

I really would be glad to hear the why's and how's on your opinions so that we can further the topic. :)

It isn't my opinion that Bush's few supporters aren't taken seriously, it's fact. They aren't. Look around in mainstream America. Outside of Hannity's forum there aren't too many people who still hold the man in high regard.

Look it up.

Since when have polls been considered a judge of presidential greatness?

Truman left office with terribly low approval ratings.

the opinions of historians instead?

Eisenhower left office considered the tenth worth president in history. Now he often makes the TOP ten by historians.

Got anything to back that up?

Just most U.S. History books written over the last four decades.

Sorry, I don't have a link. Perhaps you could do some research.

Also, good US History books should be teaching history, not spouting an opinion on who the best presidents were.

The last poll on that page was taken February and March, 2005. Since then Bush's approval rating has tanked to historic levels so I'm sure that'll be factored into the next one. Also, Bush's second term was riddled with the same problems that made Harding one of the worst ever.

Scandal after scandal (WMDs, Libby), unqualified people serving in the administration (Brown). On top of all that, Bush has Katrina and Iraq on his record and a tanked economy.

wmd's are sure an embarrassment, but not a scandal since they seemed deceived too. libby got the absolute shaft big time since richard armitage was the leaker and he is free to this day.

katrina was a blunder, i'll give you that. iraq i still unfolding. the tanked economy is beyond his control

He's was the President, everything that happened from 1/20/01 to 1/20/09 was his responsibility.

He's was?! I didn't know that.

I went to the restroom a bunch of times in that time period. I'm pretty sure Bush didn't have much to do with most of that.
