Burke's Law; Honey West; Checkmate

Trying out some older mystery/detective series, netflixing Burkie's Law first.

But most of these are coming up in the queue as short wait (which means two to three weeks after every other DVD in your queue has been sent to you,) or even long wait (which means long enough that the US Postal Service is considering wire fraud charges against Netflix.)

Now, there cannot be that many people wanting to see this TV series. One of you people is obvious hogging the only copy of the series that Netflix own. I want you to stop this right now.:scream: Delete them from your queue because I should come first!:scream:

Now that the ugly business comes first, I must add that Burke's Law is quite amusing. It's real gimmick is not Burke's announcing Burke's Law(s). But it the cameos by quite a huge number of well known faces, often playing wildly aginst type. I think my favorite, so far, was Nick Adams playing the (subtext) gay son of Elsa Lanchester.

Remember, if I find out who's clogging up the queue it wont' just be ranty emoticons!

I've only seen Honey West once or twice but there's one I think set in Mexico where Honey climbs a rope and has a hell of a time and it's just a scream, I assume unintentionally.

I'm not familiar with Burke's Law or Checkmate, but I've got Honey West on DVD (I bought it, I'm not clogging up the queue). I've also read some of the Honey West novels, and they have nothing in common with the TV show. It's another case of them recycling the name and nothing more (which is a shame, because I'd love to see Anne Francis get naked as often as the Honey West of the novels does).

^^^I don't really think the other three people clogging up the queue are on this bbs.:)

I can't remember Honey West clearly enough to be sure, but I think it was a spin off of Burke's Law. In which case, the funny business with the rope might well have been intentional. And if it was a spin off of Burke's Law, we are supposed to imagine that the characters actively engage in nudity off screen, and are tacitly invited to visualize this as best we can.
