Bullied by my Cat!

Sir Squeak, the Cat, has a habit of deciding where He wants to sleep. Usually this changes every couple of weeks but within this time He is determined to sit where He desires.

He had a penchant for Man's comfy chair for a while and would plonk Himself upon it whether Man was there or not.

In the time He wanted Son's pillow he would sleep there, Son's head present or not and paw the door open to get in.

Just now He decided that He wanted his chosen chair of the time, which happens to be the computer chair. So he sat on the table behind me for a while, meowing pitifully, I spoke to him, exchanged kisses and offered him food ~ to no avail.

Then He made a long, circuitous and precarious route until he made it to the desk and then clawed me until I gave up the chair. I had to give up my chair and find another!

Apart from the fact he wakes us up at 7am for first breakfast, I really feel Sir Squeak owns us rather than the other way around. Perhaps I've given him ideas above his station with the name

Does anybody else get bullied by their pets? How do you change your life around them?

...wish I'd just got a goldfish

Sellotape eggshells to your chair. :D

I think your other post kinda indicated that.

I'd just give way too much affection until the cat gets annoyed and leaves.

My cat owns me and i readily admit that. There was a time about a week ago that i was paying attention to him, and i was gonna go back inside the house, but the cat didn't have enough yet, so he moved to block my feet from getting to the door and just made it difficult getting inside without falling on my ass. So i went back to paying attention to him until he got tired of it and walked off.

That is a plan :D ~ but it would also be crunchy for me :vulcan:

I don't own a cat...rather a cat owns me.
:sigh:

Totally know that feeling ~ but he's soooo cute and knows when I'm feeling down and comes and kisses me. And when the men are out on a Friday night he joins me in bed, he nestles in my arm and watches Star Trek with me :)

I don't like cats.

Noted.

Why do they have to have it their way 'All the live long day'!

We have a guy in our block who pays attention to the couple of cats, Sir Squeak included, when he gets home from work. They scamper to the car to great him and compete for his attention, but like you say Shameless, after a quick jostle for a tickle, they just get bored and walk off, usually to groom or slump on the ground ready for the next victim

He's a filthy, mangy beast, but inside his breast beats the heart of a warrior! :klingon:

Sorry for DP but I just saw this...

Shameless, that's lovely.

Inside Sir Squeak's breast beats the heart of a poet. Maybe vainglorious, lazy and the cat with the most unlike-cat abilities, but caring and with a certain charm about him.

He reminds me of Leslie Phillips

Ok ~ new thing...

Who would your pet's be if they were people? :)

ETA @ Jinx ~ I would but Squeak's claws are pretty sharp :(

Who would your pet's be if they were people? :)

No pets now, but when I had a dog, I often compared him with my dad...

(1) they would both swallow their food before they had chance to taste it. My dad would clear his plate before anyone else had barely started, sometimes winning the dog even. He admits this is true and embarrassing.

(2) they were both muck magnets. My dad only had to put his car away he'd come back with mud all up his pants and black marks on his head, and have no idea where they'd come from. My dog loved dirty ponds.

my cat owned our house. she would often take over places where people sat for her sleeping place. she would often jump on my bed, stand behind my chair, meow at me, bat me with her paws and if i ignored her, climb over my shoulder and then sit on my stomach (i tend to slouch in my chair) or she'd stand on my stomach and headbutt the keyboard drawer in in order to sit on my lap. if i tried sitting up straighter, pulling the keyboard drawer out and using the keyboard, she'd often headbutt my arm until i gave up and stopped trying to use the keyboard.

in the last couple of months before she died, she took to sleeping in one of the bedroom windows of my sisters' room and after half an hour of me being on my PC, she would jump down, hare out of the room, along the landing, crash through my door, leap on my bed and then get on my lap, wash and then go to sleep. i'd wind up sitting perpendicular to my desk, with my feet on the end of the bed so she could stretch out more.

it's evenings like this, on the PC, that i miss her the most... :(
