Budweiser is back!!!

Damn.... Could a mod please move this to the Trek XI and beyond section of the forum??

You hear that faint wail? That's the sound of hundreds of Trekkies screaming in protest across the 'net...
:guffaw:

Sounds fine to me. I'll likely enjoy the end result as I did the first time around.

you know, I never liked the shiny tube engines. Makes no sense to me. I did like the engine room in Enterprise though. Actually looked like an engine.

Oh well...

I didn't like the brewery, but now that it's the future of engineering I guess I have no choice.

I think you're confusing Trekkies with mindless haters who hate for the sake of hating. ;)

Right, because having a problem with the stupidity of a brewery being passed off nearly as-is as a high-tech spaceship's engine room makes one a "mindless hater".

No, but bashing a film because you can only judge a film by the way engineering or the ship looks, is. It bugs the hell out of me that some 'fans' can whine and complain about a set like that, but have nothing meaningfull to contribute to a discussion about this film, like characters, directing, acting, plot and such things. You know, the things that ACTUALLY make up a movie.

Nobody here bashes the film just because of the brewery. Either you hate the movie and stuff like the brewery is only the tip of the iceberg, or you love the movie but say "Gee, that brewery... not so much."

Nobody? There are so many people on this forum alone that, as soon as a topic about TrekXI or TrekXII comes one, can only complain about the bridge, engineering, the ship, the Narada. Not one word on plot, acting, directing. I don't get that.

*sigh* I know I'm ranting, but it just bugs me that for some people that's all they can talk about.

I loved the movie, the actors, the special effects, the use of a related, but separate Universe to keep the Prime Universe intact.... but the use of the brewery for engineering was a disappointing bit for me. It was not what I would have liked to have seen.

I have been part of these "brewery" discussions before and the impression that I got is that most people posting their disapproval of the engineering set actually DID like the movie, but the brewery was one (and perhaps THE major) aspect of the film that they did not like.

There may be some folks out there that reject the whole movie because of the engineering set, but I don't recall seeing this as a large group. If someone did have this point of view, I would agree with you that this would be a pretty ridiculous stand to defend.

I think that some individuals are just very vocal about their particular pet peeve. The Anti-lens-flare Contingent. The There-should-be-no-leading-zeros Contingent, etc. I guess I am one of the Please-do-a-better-job-on-engineering-this-time Contingent!
