After Bryan Singer's delayed and troubled Valkyrie screened positively before test audiences recently, MGM and United Artists have decided to set a firm release date for the film: December 26 of this year.

The film was originally suppose to come out this fall, but was then pushed back into summer 2009. Now this film is officially coming out this year.

Read more here. Personally I'm very happy with this news because I'm a big Singer fan and I've been awaiting his next project. I think this is going to be very good and surprise a lot of people.

I have mixed feelings about this project, but I'm glad to see it released. Mostly, I want Singer to move onto something else, be it Superman The Man of Steel, that Logan's Run remake, or whatever else he has in the development pipeline.

Thought the trailer looked excellent, and the review I read made it sound very good. Really looking forward to this.

Despite the issues that have plagued it so far, I very much want to see Valkyrie and am glad that it's been moved back up again. Singer has earned my attention for the foreseeable future.

I will await word in October that the movie is going straight to DVD. I mean this movie has been all over the release map. It really wouldn't surprise me to hear its now direct to DVD.
It won't because I understand the budget is now around the $110m mark.

I'm curious about the film but can't say I'll be there opening night.
If I get a free sneak I'll for sure go, otherwise it may depend on what else is out to tempt my moviegoing money.

Sorry, but there's no way a movie starring Tom Cruise and directed by Bryan Singer would go straight to DVD. But, I'll be ready to eat my hat if that changes. :p

I know its not going to DVD, I said as much. Guess I should've used a smilee. Tounge in cheek is lost on some people without them.

Why would they need German accents if everyone's speaking English? How did you feel about Enemy at the Gates?
