Bryan Fuller, the man behind both NBC’s gruesome mid-season drama and the 2004 Fox cult hit Wonderfalls, announced Thursday via Twitter that Chelan Simmons would bring her chirpy ‘falls character — Gretchen Speck-Horowitz — to his new project.
“THRILLED to be working again with @ChelanLSimmons and TICKLED her character is crossing over to #Hannibal,” the writer and executive producer tweeted, along with a photo of Simmons.
I think not as the plan seems to be to deal with the events of 'Red Dragon' around season 3 or 4.^So if this is true, presumably this series won't be set within the movie continuity? Or would this character have been kicking around in the 1970s or 80s?!

Greene will take on the recurring role of Mrs. Komeda, a novelist and member of Boston’s cultural elite. She’s also a pal of the titular cannibal, Dr. Lecter (played by Casino Royale‘s Mads Mikkelsen) which – we assume – should protect her from becoming his lunch.
Gina Torres is joining NBC’s contemporary Hannibal Lecter series as the wife of Laurence Fishburne’s G-Man Jack Crawford, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Torres — who will juggle the recurring gig with her full-time job on USA Network’s Suits — previously worked with Hannibal exec producer Bryan Fuller: She played beautiful grifter Lila Robinson in Fuller’s Pushing Daisies. The actress also has a connection to onscreen spouse Fishburne — she’s married to him!
Ten years after the end of The X-Files, star Gillian Anderson is returning to U.S. broadcast TV on the upcoming NBC thriller Hannibal, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Anderson, 44, will play Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, the therapist of Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen), in a multi-episode arc.
What a terrible idea for a TV series. I mean, I don't have any idea on how it could possibly be sustainable.
And the thing is... it feels like an old idea... we've had 4 movies... and only one of them was really good. And Silence was SUCH a classic, and... I don't know.
It could be good, but, what a shadow to have to stand in.
