Brought low by poison chicken; also, the Japanese were wrong

Deranged Nasat

Well, I've had quite an adventurous night, in all. Food poisoning! For literally the first time in my life. Usually I have a duranium stomach, but something in last night's chicken overcame me. It was from the university cantina, too - usually they're very reliable so I don't know how this slipped by them. All I know is that I climbed into bed at half ten (early night) and suddenly without warning the chicken was making a sucessful bid for escape. I spent the whole night running back and forth to the bathroom (thank the gods it's an on-suite), and sadly wasn't always successful in making it. I was in a pretty bad shape - again, odd for me in that I never get sick like this. I seem to be over it now, but for most of the night I was losing bodily fluids at both ends, if you catch my meaning, with no control. It was quite distressing. Our friendly Japanese cartoons are wrong; I do not want the stuff to come out....

Anyway, sorry for such an elegant and delicate post this morning ;), but I need to moan at someone, and you're all available! :p

I've had food poisoning once, and even thought it was about fifteen years ago I remember it very clearly. I was at a university summer program, away from home for the first time, and got sick from a burger.

Luckily I have a fiercely protective sister who made sure I got to the clinic and also knocked on every door until she found someone with some Sprite/7UP. Weirdly enough, it was that medical visit when it was discovered that I carry a genetic blood disorder.

Anyway, I know it's awful but it should pass fairly quickly and you'll be right as rain in no time. Take it easy for now!

I had it a couple times. Once from a Marie Callanders pot pie and once from ham on a Pizza Hut pie.

You definitely gotta watch out for chicken.

Sorry to hear that, DN. I'm glad it's over. It's happened to me a couple of times in the past, and it's definitely not a happy way to pass the time.

Nice reference to the Japanese poop Thread, though. :rommie:

Worst I ever had it was from some hot dogs I ate at a dive bar. Stuff came out of both ends, simultaneously.

Good to see you are single handedly keeping Charmin in business.

Feel better man.

I got food poisoning at this one Chinese restaurant. Never went there again.

I also undercooked some chicken one time. Learned my lesson there.
