Final-rffic indeed!

So many great things!

  • The wedding! I cried. I'll admit it. I thought Kitty's speech was beautiful.
  • The Rebecca/Kevin engagement/Saul's outing...the drama laced with the comedy was terrific. "This has been the gayest weekend of my life"
  • The flashbacks. Nice tie-in to the mystery.
  • The Kiss! Finally! My goodness, it's only taken nearly 2 years for them to finally get those two together.
  • "Road trip!" The brothers are hilarious.
  • Kitty and Richard deciding to adopt. Bet this was extra special for Calista since she went the adoption route herself.
  • R=Ryan. Oh, boy. Literally.
Great season, even shortened. Can't wait for next year.

An excellent episode, but these last four weeks have been a whirlwind. I can't wait for a return to "normal" pacing.

Re: Brothers & Sisters SEASON FINALE 2x16: Grading/Discussion. Spoiler

Quite squarely in the "above average" camp. Maybe it was my expectation of the show, maybe it was something else. The characters didn't ring true to their previous experience (Walkers + gathering + alcohol = high drama), so many different threads had to be played and weren't and yet another rehash of the Rebecca plot from S1. (The Saul scene with the kids was funny, though.)

Why in the world would Sarah, Kitty and Kevin go to Nora with the "news" of another sibling when they have no evidence of "Ryan" aside from vague memories? And I like the kiss at the end even less.

Re: Brothers & Sisters SEASON FINALE 2x16: Grading/Discussion. Spoiler

Overall it was above average. Not the best it could have been, but certainly still enjoyable. How interesting that there's another child...I too wondered why the heck they went to Nora about it so soon. You would think they'd investigate a little further so that they'd actually have some sort of proof.

The Rebecca and Justin kiss was a little awkward, but nice to see something happening on that front. They could have kept the two mad at each other for weeks or even months, and that would have been boring.

The whole Scotty and Kevin thing was nice, and like Nora said, it was a good chance to see Kevin in a happy rather than cynical mood. The flashbacks were pretty neat.

Good for Kitty and her husband (I can never remember his name!!) for deciding to adopt. I feel like they've gone through this whole plotline way too fast though. They went from him not wanting a child, to him wanting one and them finding out they can't, to hormone treatments, then sex, and now adoption all within only 3 episodes. A little too quick for me.

I have no doubt this plotline-as well as Justin/Rebecca, Saul, Kevin/Scotty-would have been MUCH better served with the additional 6 episodes we lost due to the strike. I feel like the writers wanted to get to a certain place by the season finale to set up next season and crammed a lot of material in when they really didn't have to. Let the storylines breathe just a little bit. We're missing a couple conversations in regards to "Ryan," especially.
