To my dear friends,
Last month Brony Kingdom celebrated its 4th anniversary: 4 years of episode reviews, role playing, post every time you enter, party games, short stories, and so much more. We're a small community, but that doesn't make us less of one. We don't have fancy graphics (though I do try), big media outlets, multiple editors, legions of bloggers, or crowds of twitter followers, but we are a very real home for Bronies.
Yet, I think we're more than that. I have always held firm to the belief that anyone who joins our board is a friend, and anyone who has yet to join the board is a friend in the waiting. I believe in the principles of friendship, and while I did so long before this board, or Friendship is Magic even existed, the show and the fans themselves strengthened those principles.
Am I getting all mushy? Yeah, let me get to the point.
We've been quiet as of late. Now, I realize that for many of you, life moves on, things change, reality makes us busy and we have to focus on the major things in our lives. Still, the streets are lonely, the forums, and halls echo with silence, and even the focus of the board, the episode threads, garner only a handful of posts.
This is nothing against anyone, because as I said, we get busy, and real life outside the board is more important than what happens here, but that doesn't change that I miss what happens here when I no longer see it happening. Life happens, but we're still here, too. So let me tell you what I wanted to tell you: If you haven't visited us in a while, please stop in. If you were here yesterday, we'd love to see you again!
Jacob A. (formerly known as JacoDash for those of you who have been away a long time) posited that we needed a reunion thread, at least to get some old names to show up and let us see their smiles once again, and I agreed with him wholeheartedly. We miss you. In the early days we had great discussions, lots of fun cracking jokes and playing silly games, and I just don't believe that one has to give any of that up. Perhaps some of you have moved on, and that's okay, you'll still be welcome here any time. Some of you, though, may have just forgotten we were here, I mean after all, we're a small board, and we don't have the internet presence of the big guys, who can probably hold attention better than we ever could.
I've always likened our little board to a tiny town. There are more exciting places, big cities, where people tend to go, but we're that one horse town (pun completely intended) at the crossroads out in the boondocks. We're small in stature, big on heart.
So if you can, if you feel like you have the time, just stop by. Come see us, and let us know how you are. If you know of someone who hasn't updated their email in a long time and may not get this letter, send them a copy, and make sure they know our web address is http://www.bronykingdom.org, since they may have been unaware of the change some time ago.
If you do want to respond directly to this post, there is now a reunion thread created here: http://bronykingdom.org/topic/11418753/1/
If, however, you cannot make it, then let me wish you happy holidays in advance, and wish you the very best, and to let you know that you will always be welcome here, that we will ask nothing from you but your presence.
All of my love and best wishes,
Rainbow Dash (aka John)
