Britain's Underage Pregnancy Problems.

Why has Britain have an essentially permanent underclass that is irresponsibly breeding? I mean look at this debacle where it was initially believed that a 13 year old boy fathered an infant! Don't get me wrong any human society has its rejects and losers, but Britain seems to have a disproportionate number of them that seems to be unsustainable and it just manifests a situation that religious groups could exploit to everybody else's detriment ("Society is immoral and we must cure the sin!" etc).

I have no idea whats going on with them. A friend of mine in England used to be a cadet instructor and I remember an incident where they had to kick a 12 year old girl out of the unit for having a threesome with two of the marine cadets (also 12), while her roommate was still in the room. All three of them couldn't give a crap about either what they did or the emotional distress of the roommate.

Not to mention a woman, now 36, who thought I'd like to hear about the violent orgies she had when she was 13 landing her in the hospital repeatedly.

*shrugs*

And don't even get me started on their dental health. Good God, don't these people have dentists?

Really... that's interesting. :vulcan:

No, its disturbing and its a growing trend which only makes it more disturbing.

Yes, but it is still interesting... I'd love to see some hard core psychological, sociological, sociopolitical, and other studies done... Would make for a fascinating study.

Oh I would too, also looking into the levels of youth crime, alcoholism and obesity. We're quickly leading the world in those regards too.

Indeed, it's a fascinating study opportunity...

It is, when you consider the vastly smaller population of the United Kingdom in relation to the United States, that proportionally speaking a far greater percentage of our youth are currently acting this way.

It means that not only is it not a unique problem, and that it is not solely the fault of the United States that children act this way, but that they're society actually manages to have a smaller proportion of its youth being overweight, sexual active or otherwise violent than other parts of the world.

I believe it was actually reported the teenage pregnancy rate went down in the last couple of years.

There are other things to take in to account besides the population size, such as the percentage or urban population. The population density in the UK is very high. I think that is where a lot of problems with this country come from.

:vulcan: You're slightly exaggerating our problem here, the US has a teen pregnancy rate more than double ours, the US obesity rate is 10% higher than ours...

Yes, we are suffering from problems with youth crime, teenage pregnancy (we are highest in Europe), and childhood obesity, but let's not exaggerate it out of all proportion...

I agree.

Not to mention the lack of youth activities compared to the rest of Europe. Not much to do except go at it like minks. :p

Depression and low self esteem play a part, perhaps due to the lack of abundance of natural light in the winter months.

The teen way of rebelling against the famed stiff upper lip and proper manners?

It's now become apparent that the 13 year old sprog might not have fathered the child at all. Half the local male youth have apparantly signed sworn statements saying that 9 months ago, they were all shagging the slag mother.

I think that just makes the whole thing worse.

The breakdown of society in the UK has only really became obvious with the rise of the loony left and 10 years of Socialist rule.

If America doesn't vote Obama out of office very quickly, the same things will happen there. The left wing is insidious. Once they get a grip on society and government, you never get rid of them. The UK and US are on course for being two nations dependent on state handouts, where society cohesion and the will to work has been lost.

 British politics have been moving right for years. We're about as right-wing as we've ever been in modern times at the moment. Nothing compared to the GOP, I'll agree - but the 'left' is not rising in Britain.

What tripe.

I was going to give an actual response, but I didn't think it would be worth it really.
