Brink

From what I hear, it's basically an MP focused game, and that the singleplayer is essentially MP with bots and objectives, so you're bound to be disappointed if you're looking for a good singleplayer campaign. . These are from impressions from people who've gotten the game.

DANGGIT!!!! Well I guess I will snap this one up when it hits the used rack for $20. It looked good, but I want a good singleplayer campaign. I hate multiplayer.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It did look good and stylish, but I look at it more like a Team Fortress 2 competitor, and even then, I've heard disappointment from people who've picked it up who say it doesn't really offer much. I'd perhaps wait for Rage as that looks to have a great single-player campaign, and I think it might even have RPG elements although I don't know if they've removed that aspect.

Edit: Oh, nevermind about the RPG elements. Seems they're not going in that direction. although it does look like it will have an economy and a recipe and crafting system:

Willits had this to say about the guns and other items available for purchase in the game, "Rage has an economy where you are allowed to choose how you spend your money earned through combat and racing. You might decide you love the wingstick (a boomerang-cum-shuriken weapon) and stock up on them, or you may feel inclined to purchase parts to build more sentry bots or to keep your armour upgraded and repaired." I have to say that the phrase, "boomerang-cum-shuriken" has me raising my eyebrows.
As for the crafting, Willits said, "Through your relationships with characters in the game, you earn recipes over time. Then you buy, loot, or receive as rewards the different ingredients that each recipe calls for. We then teach the player how to use these items in appropriate areas. Engineering items should become a great player choice mechanic, allowing for varied player experiences

Bought it. Regretted it. Might play it with a friend. Total letdown from what they were hyping it to be. Be warned!

Thanks! Is it worth the $20 bucks I plan to pay for it when it is used?

No. In fact I'd be tempted to seek a refund for the time I spent trying to play the damned thing.

Awful game. SP is basically just MP with bots, and whilst that works for Left4Dead, your comrades here are thick twats who don't revive you when you most need it, replenish your ammo when they can be arsed, and tackle objectives sporadically.

Unless you have a group of buds, and you're running purely private matches then I really, really wouldn't bother.
