Bring back:

Laura Cynthia Chambers

Who/what would you like to see make another appearance in a novel? And how?

Charlie Evans has only returned in fan films and comics, and he's always this bitter, vindictive person, angry at Kirk leaving him there. I'd like to see a different side of him.

I remember reading an interview with DS9 showrunner Ira Steven Behr back in the '90s, where he mentioned toying with a storyline in which Charlie Evans returns in the 24th Century (presumably aboard the station, using the same actor). It's something that was also considered for the TV shows at one point.

Like maybe he gets a pen pal or something. I kind of hoped that the Thasians would finally take a form that would allow him to interact with them as he longed to. Poor lonely boy. :(

I'd love to see the First Federation return..

Oh wait. That's going to happen.

Wait... What else....
More backstory on Elias Vaughn.
Dammit... That's harder than it should be.. Ok who died, didn't come back and is a great character.... Elias Vau...
This won't be getting me anywhere..

After ~30 minutes thinking I compiled this list:
  • Q (however I won't specify which one)
  • Gell Kamemor
  • Some more information on the Doctors time on The Weird Planet Displaced in Time
  • Esperanza Piñiero during her time as a Starfleet Captain
  • Commanders O'Donnell and Fife
  • Basically everything related to Kirsten Beyers Voyager novels
  • That thing related to the last line of Elusive Salvation
  • Richard Rider... wait wrong franchise
  • 24th century Spock
  • The Starfleet Corps of Engineers series
  • The USS Excelsior and IKS Gorkon
  • The Lost Era novels..
  • Not T'Pol
  • more 20th/21st century novels by Dayton Ward
  • T'Prynn
  • Decan
That's about it for now

I'm guessing you mean T'Pring.

No, T'Prynn from Star Trek Vanguard.

Now, Jinn.... It's been established that a younger Elias Vaughn knew T'Prynn. Hell, his daughter is named after her. There are plenty of stories left of the exploits of Vaughn and T'Prynn on missions for SI. ;)

I was trying just to suggest people/locations/things from episodes/films that could re-occur, in case nobody had thought of them as possibilities. But yeah, I may have strayed into idea territory with Charlie.

The automated repair station from "Dead Stop", year into the future. I've never seen the episode, but based on what I read at memory alpha, it might be interesting to see it 130 years later.

That would definitely be cool. I just wasn't sure if you were aware of that particular take on the "Dead Stop" station.

I would love to see the Hierarchy from Voyager return. I feel like there's an interesting civilization waiting to be fleshed out based on their few appearances.

Wouldn't this kinda count as story ideas?

I think as long as we simply keep it at characters we'd like to see back, or something as vague as I mentioned (considering we already saw a glimpse of that in a novel) it's ok. But, detailing plotpoints and character arcs is a definate no-no.

Hell, his daughter is named after her.
I don't want to digress but was it ever explained for what reason there is a T' before the names of most female Vulcans? It would seem to be something culturally limited to Vulcans considering that Vaughns daughters name is Prynn.

The Temporal Integrity Commission
Tiaru Jarok
The Remans and the Watraii
The Xindi
Roberta Lincoln and Rain Robinson as well as Daniel Wheeler from Elusive Salvation
The transporter clones from Fallen Gods in a story which isn't as bad as Fallen Gods
Miranda Kadohata
The return of Scotty following Indistinguishable From Magic
The mirror universe free starship Enterprise as the main ship of a novel
The Aventine as the main ship of a novel

  • Some more information on the Doctors time on The Weird Planet Displaced in Time
One of the short stories in Distant Shores anthology covered that. Though on that subject, I would love to see how far that species has advanced by the era of the current Voyager novels. Seems to me that they could be mighty allies for Project Full Circle.

Yes. These.
And 24th century Saavik!
And the USS Capitoline and her captain, Roberta Holverson.

Oh, and the Olympic-class Athene Donald from DS9: The Missing, and Rugal Pa'Dar/Proka Rugal from The Never-Ending Sacrifice.

I was going to say Teresa Garcia and Meyo Ranjea from DTI, but I'm hoping they'll appear in Time Lock later this year.

Just wanted to re-iterate that this thread is primarily about one-shot characters and ideas that only appeared in the shows/movies but never again. I've never heard of most of these book-only references.
