I have been made aware that the one-volume republication of David R. George III's "Crucible" Trilogy (including new short stories) will not be making it to the publisher, as of now.
I am extremely, profoundly disappointed. The "Crucible" trilogy, in my opinion, was one of the best sets of Trek Lit. written to date. I would adore having a single volume trade paperback (or hardback, for that matter) of this work in my library. And, new material?!?!? That would be the best news for Trek Lit. in a good long while.
Anyway, my point in making this post is....what can we, as fans, do to support this work getting to publication? I don't know about doing something cheesy like a petition or anything, but who can we, as fans, contact to voice our opinions? I sincerely doubt that I am the only one who feels this strongly about Mr. George's work. It was an excellently written, passionate piece of literature that evoked strong emotions. I sincerely hope that this work gets to publication, because it will be a severe loss to the Trek community, and to the literary community as a whole, if it does not.
