I meant his career as an onscreen actor. Outside of that, he definitely made a living for himself. Has there been any confirmation that if he was or wasn’t asked to reprise his role?

I think somewhere way earlier in the thread, somebody said that Brophy indicated he never heard from anyone. Or something like that. But I could be mis-remembering.

Looks to me like he's more than made a living for himself -- he's had a very successful stage career. The fact that his career has mostly been in live theatre rather than onscreen is not really a compelling reason for the producers of PIC not to have him back.
I don't know why he didn't return, but I really don't think his career history is the reason.
