Brexit-will it affect Doctor Who-or has it already?

probably from idiots who don't realise the name existed for thousands of years before Islamic State did.
I actually remember seeing a news report on TV about a jewellery store that was named Isis that had to change their name because of people treating them like they were associated with ISIS, despite the fact they were in business some 15 years before ISIS.

I never watched it, but wasn't Downton on ITV and not the BBC? So why would a competing broadcaster have a "social media storm" over something they didn't make, nor showed.

And to be honest, the only real way leaving the EU will have an affect on BBC Productions is a reduction in the Licence Fee and less money to spend, although they may go the Night Manager route and have it co-funded even more with production companies from other countries when it comes to Doctor Who.

By dingo you're right, Downton is an ITV programme I have absolutely no idea why I put the BBC there!

But yeah agree totally, I think at the end of the day Brexit won't have much effect. It may make filming on location abroad a bit more expensive if the £ tanks much further, but they could well make up the shortfall with foreign investment. The BBC do have a long history of co-producing shows, like HBO with Band Of Brothers for example, and I've seen more than one programme with a GmbH involved.
