^ Calling half-people Asian is a slur now? I'm not defending Ratner's remarks specifically, but, what?
I took it to mean he only liked her when he thought she wasn't Asian, that her being Asian made her "less worthy" to be interested in.
Sort of a "I only sleep with white people" sort of thing.
Yeah, Ratner was saying being Asian was somehow a bad thing.
Eddie Murphy won't be hosting because The Rat was the one who recommended him in the first place due to directing him in "Tower Heist".
Either you die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
^ That quote doesn't make any sense with regards to what happened to The Rat or Murphy. Ratner wasn't exactly beloved in the first place and Eddie was only the host due to his influence.

Yeah.
He uttered a slur against gays (rehearsals are for fags) and made a bad joke about Munn allegedly downplaying her half-Asian heritage in the past. Neither is actually a "racial slur," as the term is defined.
This whole thread is putting people who actually understand and care for the proper use of language in the unfortunate position of seemingly defending Ratner when, in fact, he remarks are largely indefensible.
But, come on, people. Words have meanings. Not every rude or even despicable comment, even one involving race, is a "racial slur."
Using "racial slur" in this context is a "for want for a better term" sort of thing.
I read her book and wondered who this mystery director was. A lot of weird stories in there.

With that said, I'm surprised this makes news here and not the death of Heavy D. which is more shocking and news worthy than anything Ratner says.
Yup, really shocking that a black guy in his 40s who only recently tried to get into shape after making a life-long career out of being morbidly obese died of respiratory distress.
