Breen destroyed Alcatraz?

I wonder if the Breen destroyed Alcatraz during their attack on Starfleet HQ? (which is the only known instance of an attack on San Francisco in the prime timeline).

Maybe it was a Futurama type incident where they only just got the TV show during the war were so upset it was cancelled/not renewed they decided to blow it up to show their displeasure. Probably also why they wanted to control Earth so they could order a season 2 into production.

Eh, somehow I doubt that would be high on their targeting priorities. Maybe the prison/tourist facility got blown up as collateral damage, assuming it was even still there in the 24th century, but I'm sure the island made it out just fine. Too many other legit military/economic/cultural targets to aim at.

No, it wasn't destroyed. One would be able to see it from Janeway's ready room in the timeline where it took Voyager 16 more years to get home.

I doubt Alcatraz would register on their radar, but there would be little point in destroying a symbol of the futility of resisting the state.

If anything, I could see the Dominion setting up shop there once they conquer Earth. :p

^Didn't that drill thing drop into the bay right by the bridge, quite a distance from the Rock?

*Nerdy moment over*

In the novelization of TMP, at the time of that movie the ruins of the old prison were gone and had been replace with a children's park.

By the late 24th century ... ?

:)

Then it's a good thing novels aren't canon, huh? :rommie:
