Breath Identification

Now now, it's all in good fun. I paid my CBSAA subscription and I'm certainly not going to stop watching because the folks 10 years before Kirk and Spock have to give doors a hummer before they'll open.

If something's funny, something's funny, no matter what spin we can put on it. I mean, if Burnham shows up in EP4 with a clown nose, damn, I'm sure gonna mention it - even if @Timo can come up with some darn good reason why a red sphere on the end of her nose would somehow prove beneficial at warp velocities :techman:

Ok, as long as it's all in good fun :). I guess I've just gotten so used to armchair critics using microscopic canon violations (the kind you find in pretty much every Trek episode) to justify their hatred for the show-- and why it "sucks"-- that my defensive groan sensors are on high alert.

Sure, 20 years ago, when I was a kid, I had fun with little stuff like this, finding little plot holes, continuity errors, etc, but it was all truly part of the fun, rather than genuine griping. But these days, thanks to what comments sections have generally become, I associate these complaints with the disgruntled part of the fandom.

I remember there was a website in the mid 90s where every show and episode was listed, and there was a section for "errors" and I used to take a lot of pleasure in re-watching episodes, finding little errors, and submitting them.

I didn't really take it that seriously, from a pure writing point of view, I saw it as a joke. Michael's roommate snores and drools and she can use that to get in to a high security area. I can imagine the whole thing was reverse engineered starting with Tully's snoring habit. It's just another case of writing trumping canon... Which it should do (don't hit me I'm not well!)

Snoring and drooling. Another couple of reasons Tilly is irritating. Capturing breath is weird, the ship is full of it.
