    That was clever, but not so much the funny. These fan film folks seem to want to have their cake and eat it too, but they're missing the big point: it's not their cake.

    If I remember that was off the 5th Passenger website and it struck me as an attempt to take a poke at CBS/Paramount. I really don't think the fan film community needs that type of stuff at this point.
    The trailers I've seen from 5th Passenger look like an interesting space adventure but I thought the story would stand better on it's own without invoking Star Trek.

    Can't put my finger on it exactly but there are times I get the feeling there are some people tring to push C/P into shutting all fan films down.

    The amusing/ironic thing is that as it is a parody of the show and is commenting on the IP holders actions it highly likely is fair use and doesn't have to comply with any guidelines to be safe.
