Breaking: Ft. Hood Attack

Yes, there will always be those that feel they are missing something and feel alone. Usually you'll find them in cities or keg parties. ;)

Or Fenway Park. :lol:

Oh for fucks sake...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

There is a time and place for that sort of discussion...here is about as far as you can be from it.

Anyway, back to matters of importance...what a tragedy. Honestly. I hope that this guy gives them some answers as to why he would do something like this...

He must have had some sort of mental collapse or something.

Apparently the gunman is not in anywhere near good enough condition to speak or communicate, so we may never know exactly why he did this.

I would like to think he didn't have some deep seated hatred of America or anything like that - I mean, he made it all the way to Major, so that's gotta count for something...

I believe the guy was a medical professional in which case the rank was mostly just to get the pay scale right. My cousin went into the Air Force as a dentist. His starting rank was Captain.

He's off the ventilator now and apparently talking, but not to investigators.

If they go with murder charges instead of something else, the UCMJ says he's looking at a dozen life sentences or death penalties when found guilty.

He'll be detained in military prison, like Ft Levenworth prior to Court Marshal.

He'll be surrounded by other military prisoners that have broken the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice, the law applicable to service members) for various things, but nothing so heinous as mass murder of fellow soldiers.

In all likelyhood the population of said prison will regard the good Major in much the same way child molesters are treated in the civilian penile... err... penal system.

This is on the asumption that he's tried for the murders under the UCMJ, and not declared an enemy combatant or tried for treason. What happens in those cases are beyond this former Sergeant's training.

He might stand trial, but he'll be lucky to make it that far.
