Breaking Bad

Great episode.

Will Jane's demise push Jesse further into drugs, or will this be a wake up call for him?

I suspect the former is the more likely scenario...

Considering he winged a beaker at Walt for calling her a junkie... which she clearly is... I'm going to guess all out war if he ends up blaming him.

Great episode Sunday. I had a feeling Jane wouldn't see next season but I kind of thought she might go in a violent way. Walt standing over her while she choked to death making up his mind not to help her was as cold blooded a thing as Tony Soprano allowing, then helping, Cristopha die after his auto accident.

I don't think Walt pushed Jane over. Seems to me he just shook Jessie and Jane turned onto her back on her own.

I agree with all who say that pushing the cancer to the back burner is a way of showing us who Walt really is or has become.

I feel for Jane's Dad too. Delancie is doing a great job being the loving father. I am not looking forward to seeing his reaction to Jane's death. First thing he is liable to think is that if he'd called the cops like eh started to do, Jane might be alive.

What do they do with Jane's body? The father knows Jessie's a drug addict. Jessie would have to be the number one suspect in her death (especially if drug related) or mysterious disappearance.

Can't wait for the season finale.

That was some episode!
The way Walt just stood there and watched Jane die was so cold blooded but it sure fixed his problem with her.

The name on the lease is Jesse Jackson.

He'll be fine.

I saw her on Gossip girl the other week and it was so bubble headed I couldn't believe that she was the same woman. And i do mean the actress. Consenting to perform for two productions of such widely differing calibre. Actors are whores.

The spinnoff set in the 80s in which she was going to almost headline has been tabled.

It's called showing range as an actress. :p

Anyone else think the place Walt put the cash is a bad idea?

Incredibly bad...He just got the public and the media involved in his money laundering. The "uncle" idea was much better.

Edit: Also, the zombie idea is just too complicated. He could easily get screwed in the deal (either purposefully or just through mistakes on the part of the programmers).

The problem is, too many people are getting involved in Walt & Jessie's affairs.
Jane, the crooked Lawyer, the fast food chicken shop owner, Jessie's friends, etc. Way too many people that know them by face are getting involved. The more involved, the more the secret can be exposed.

I'm just wondering when the pink Bear in the foreshadowing comes into play.

Anybody notice the hint about Walt suggesting putting a sonic alarm around the pool?

Nice "Save Walt" site. I didn't think to look and see if there was a real one.

He's finding out what it takes to run a drug opperation. For the first season and a half it looked like Walt and Jesse were in way over their heads, but now it looks like they're settling in and part of that is needing a few other people involved. I thought the crooked lawyer would be a problem that they'd have to get rid of, but he's actually turned out to be somewhat of an asset, so far at least. I do agree though that Walt has shown his face a few times when he shouldn't have. Mainly to Jesse's friends.

Yeah, I think they'd sell Walt down the river in a heart beat to save their own asses. Like the Chicken dude said: You can't trust a drug addict.

^ I'm surprised that he guy from the impound yard hasn't been a problem. He knows what's in Jesse's motorhome and how much the chemicals are worth.

Thats what I was thinking, his green and the water heater.

Also that junkie and cook/dealer at the home improvement store. If one of them got pinched they would tell of the guy(Walt) so said this is his territory.

It's a great show, perhaps the best television series I've ever seen in many ways. The writers have done a fantastic job of creating an ensemble cast of 'gray area' characters. We never know exactly how they will react, these living, breathing real people - and yet they still drive the plot, rather than the plot driving their actions (if you know what I mean).

So many great moments (many of them noted at my Breaking Bad recap/quote site), but one of my recent favorites was Walt's 'blowfish' motivational speech to Jesse, which I've transcribed here for your enjoyment:

Walt: The game has changed. The word is out. And you are a killer.
Jesse: What are you talking about?
Walt: Apparently it’s all over town. Somebody crossed you; you got angry. You crushed their skull with an ATM machine.
Jesse: That’s not how it happened -
Walt: Who cares? Just as long as it’s our competitors who believe it and not the police.
Jesse: Oh, my -
Walt: No, don’t you see how great this is? Look, you, you are - Jesse, look at me. You…are a blowfish.
Jesse: What?
Walt: A blowfish – think about it. Small in stature, not swift, not cunning. Easy prey for predators, but the blowfish has a secret weapon, doesn’t he, doesn’t he? What does the blowfish do, Jesse? What does the blowfish do?
Jesse: I don’t even know what -
Walt: The blowfish puffs up, okay – the blowfish – puffs himself up four, five times larger than normal! And why? Why does he do that? So that it MAKES him intimidating, that’s why. Intimidating! So that the other, scarier fish are scared off. And that’s you – you are a blowfish. But you see it’s just all an illusion. It’s noting but air. Now…who messes with the blowfish, Jesse?
Jesse: Nobody.
Walt: You’re damn right.
Jesse: I’m a blowfish.
Walt: You are a blowfish. Say it again.
Jesse: I’m a blowfish.

True, but Dad does know Jessie's face as well as the fact that Jessie was sharing drugs with his daughter. And when Jessie disappears, which he undoubtedly will, he will certainly be a suspect. Jessie has a record too, so he is in the local P.D.'s database. But whether the police get involved or not, Delancie is liable to come after Jessie himself.

Besides all that, this series has shown a propensity for doing the unexpected so I wouldn't automatically assume Jessie "will be fine".

Jesse should end up as a chemistry teacher (or at least entering school to become one). Walt should end up dead or acting as a drug lord in South America (raising his newborn son as the heir to the empire)...although, I still think he might finish the show by strangling a baby for its candy...
