Haven't really watched Dexter. The Walking Dead is boring as shit. So, yeah. Best show on TV.
I thought "Cornered" kicked things up a notch after "Shotgun" with the Cartel continuing with their assaults aganist Gus, Jesse helping Mike out in a way that wasn't set up by Gus, and Skylar getting a real glimpse into Walt's criminal alter-ego that leaves her shaken. When Walt asked her "who do you think you're talking?", I was thinking the exact same thing and everything he said afterwards as part of his speech were things I have been wanting him to say to Skylar for some time.
Breaking Bad is the best show on TV today. Dexter used to have a special place in my heart but that place has been getting smaller and smaller since a certain point in its fifth season.

"Cornered" was a great episode and the hour went by fast.
- Why didn't those two guys in the truck just breathe through one the of the bullet holes they made? Looked like that's what they were about to do.
- I liked that Skyler brought up Walt's outburst at dinner from last week's episode. They didn't just drop it or move on without mention. It's clear that she has a better handle on things than he does. It's also clear that he has ego issues.
- I liked Walt's seething anger toward the former owner of the car wash, the way he broke out his prized 1-dollar bill after he left and bought a coke with it. That'll show him.
The whole thing was a veiled look at how he'd run a major drug operation. Good stuff. Something tells me he will have to call the wife. 
- I have to say it... That's one big car wash. I've never seen one that big. Looks like it has a cleaning service as well, and I guess they need a high ceiling for the mist and all, but still... It strikes me as an awfully big and elaborate complex.
- There was some good humor with Walt's "It's all about me" spiel to Jesse and the meth-head digging for no reason.
- Gus is starting to crack.

Seeing this pic, it's amazing how different the cast used to look...
I wouldn't say that I have a problem with Walt's current look, but I do take issue with him looking like an obvious badass/tough guy. It's not the best look for someone who needs to maintain the cover of an ordinary family guy. I can't decide which is more important actually... Maintaining the image of a suburban guy, or looking tough for the people he deals with in the drug underworld.

I have no idea how anyone could be bored by TWD. Zombie attacks are a sure way to focus my interest.
However, I'm frequently bored by Breaking Bad. This episode for instance, my attention was fading in and out. I don't really care about Walt and Skyler's marriage or Gus' machinations involving Jesse. Maybe next week they'll get back to the Hank-on-the-hunt storyline, because that's the one that interests me.
I wondered why they didn't predict the CO2 maneuver and bring along meth lab gas masks.
It's an expression of the character - he wants to think of himself as a badass/tough guy and is deliberately adopting that look. And when he's not wearing his little porkpie hat, he really doesn't look obvious about it. He could disappear in a crowd at the mall.
The tension between Walt's need to express his inner tough guy and his need to protect his family is a major plotline here. That's what the Mustang was all about.
It was the dumb characters.
I stopped watching about 4 episodes in. It was about the time they decided to go back into the city to save the Red Neck... for some reason I couldn't fathom, because it's not like that Red Neck had some needed skill. Yep, maybe that's heartless, but, let's see... go save someone who will only cause trouble and possibly risk losing more people, or cut your losses and move on...
Or the fact that the Red Neck waited a few hours to try and get the hacksaw...
It was an Earth filled with morons. I could only cheer for the zombies.

After seeing this pick I noticed that Walt Jr. (Sorry don't know his real name) is getting really skinny.
Yes, I thought TWD's characters are pretty weak. Maybe they haven't had enough time to gel yet with the short season. None of them stands out and I don't have anyone I particularly like either. Like Falling Skies, it's a show that is interesting to watch and of respectable quality and production values. But Falling Skies has had better character development after the 1st season for the lead at least. Noah Wyle's character has really grown on me and I was very skeptical about him going in. He also has good chemistry with the kids and the military guy (I suck at remember names!
). Ok, sorry about going so far off topic.Breaking Bad became one of my favorite shows because I loved Hank and I was rooting for Walter. I still love this show but many of the storylines this season seem pointless. Walter has become less sympathetic and Hank is featured too little. Jesse and Skylar are boring. I like Walter Jr, so like Hank, he should have more scenes.
The dollar bill was a beautiful way to show what a repulsive dick Walt really is. (Bogdan seems to be a typical businessman, by the way, which speaks ill of businessmen.) And the plot is moving along, instead of spinning its wheels like the show has done so much of the time at the beginning of the seasons. But like all serialized shows you can't really tell til the story's over.
I've never been one to hate Skyler or the focus this show puts on her and Walt's relationship, but I felt that this episode was just going back over old ground. They did this at the start of the second season, they did it at the start of the third season and they're doing it again now. I know it's important to show that she's still resistant to the downfall of Walt into a hardened criminal while Walt has come to accept it, it just felt like I had seen all this before.

I took the Walt/Skyler stuff as a look into what things will be like when Walt rises to the top of the drug game as opposed to just more drama. He won't have a handle on things, she will. Her thoughtfulness on how to keep the story straight, buying the car wash, and the former owner poking Walt about having to rely on the wife are examples of what's yet to come. I don't find it all that unusual either. I've seen and heard a lot of cases where the wife is the real power and influence behind the powerful man.

Mike is training Jesse to handle the business, though that's not the intention. So, yes, Walt will inevitably slay Fring.

It's been stated in an interview somewhere that the mission statement of the show is to "turn Mr. Chips into Scarface". So it seems very likely this is the direction they're headed.
I think, in tonight's episode, Walt is finally going to take the offensive aganist Gus. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to use Gus's troubles with the Cartel to his advantage.
"Problem Dog"... I didn't enjoy the episode as much as I could have, due to a headache, but I liked it and the part at the end with Hank was fantastic and really stood out.
