Breakfast Foods and Coffee Thread

I scramble eggs. But add half and half to keep them fluffy. I also mix in creole seasoning and hot sauce before cooking them. I use a lot since the egg seems to overpower the heat. Gives it a nice flavor though.

Personally, I like a few freeze-dried chives in my scrambled eggs.

Anybody here try owon or taspar eggs? :p How about Ktarian? Porakan?

I just drank an extremely strong cup of coffee... basically a 16oz espresso.

Anything mixed in scrambled eggs besides salt and pepper is just...ew.
Have you tried chives and finely sliced chanterelle mushrooms? The best way to eat scrambled eggs imo.

I like my eggs poached. Either served over a salad or in eggs benedict.
That's it! I was wondering what to cook for supper tonight. Poached eggs on salad - just the thing! *drool*

The coffee place I mentioned a few posts ago has something called "Aftershock" I have a friend who has a mild sensitivity for caffeine and he tried it around noon, the rest of the day he couldn't sit still, had shaky hands and his heartrate went up a notch or two.. he didn't sleep all that well either LOL.. :D

One does build up a tolerance, after all...Some mornings the eyes don't fully open until
halfway through the second pitcher...

Elephant females, being mammals, produce shell-less ova and a fertilised ovum is gestated internally. On the other hand, elephant birds laid huge eggs, which are now as rare as hen's teeth given that the elephant bird is long extinct.

One of my friends is really caffeine addicted, he loooooooooooves coffee and guzzles down gallons of the stuff, also takes an extra scoop of preworkout before training and then complains about having a restless sleep.. :wtf:

2 No-doze......espresso....
and, of course, a spoonful of sugar....

:p

So, who likes to put booze in his coffee?
Moi? YES OF COURSE! coffee and whisky, coffee and rum, coffee and amaretto.. there's all kinds of liquer to spike yer beans with!:mallory:

I'd be right with you Santaman except that I can't tolerate alcohol in hot beverages for some reason... otherwise it'd be whiskey-coffee and glogg all the way for me!

For hot coffee, I prefer espresso. Drip coffee just tastes like water to me.

On the west coast, various boutique coffee roasters have a drink called the Cortado or Gibraltar. This is my favorite; it's very similar to a caffe latte, but I think with a higher ratio of espresso to milk, and served in a glass cup. I like to order it "breve," which is made with half and half instead of milk. It makes for a richer experience.

I also love cold brew, which I make at home by the pitcherfull. It's way more economical than paying $5 per cup for something that's so cheap and easy to make yourself.
