My dad does. And the last time I went there I had a Sausage McGriddle that wasn't too bad Oh, shut up Seriously, when people are down on their luck, any little bit helps I didn't think she inflicted it on them... She merely showed that she was a kind human being with religious beliefs and motivation... Look, at the end of the day it all comes down to this: We are all God's children... (or fellow humans for those that don't believe in God) and we should show basic kindness and compassion to others. I understand why McDonalds wouldn't want homeless people in their restaurants... but speaking as someone that has purchased food for homeless people, it does make you feel a little better after you do it. And I do believe in karma and believe that it will be paid forward (hey, I'm still Republican!)
I anticipate this story being in one of David Cross' upcoming standup specials. To quote the great T'Baio "Buuuuuullllshiiiiittt!!"
I just have to say, I found this line incredibly creepy: I leaned over, began to pat his hand and said, 'I did not do this for you. God is here working through me to give you hope.' If someone said that to me I'd be more than a little disturbed. I'd still take the food, but I would think she's crazy.
As a rule, I agree with you. But, Breakfast Burritos are, on occasion, freaking delicious. Especially when one is hung over. Wouldn't want to make more than a monthly habit of eating them though.
God is "mumbo jumbo"? Hmm, well if that's true then why is helping your fellow man a good idea? Wouldn't that depend on a non-existant moral standard?
Well, according to your beliefs, the woman in the story who was nice to a homeless man was actually amoral, and was just a sock-puppet for God. Pledging allegiance to your God puts you under it's control and compels you to act nice. It's not humanly possible to act nice for any other reason. That's crazy.
Yes, I think God is mumbo jumbo. You don't. Brava. And why must morality and God go hand in hand? I'm immoral because I'm an atheist who thinks helping people in need is a good idea? Explain that one, please.
Is it just me or did the whole "light of God" stuff just feel tacked on? It seems like just a good example of someone being kind and nice.
