Brazilian Trek Pasta Night

TheLonelySquire

Vice Admiral
The in-laws are here for six (yes SIX) weeks from Sao Paulo. Tomorrow night is TPN! We're going with season one. Haven't decided on stuffed shells or thin spaghetti. Meat sauce, Italian sausage, garlic bread & salad are on the docket.

As always, my friends here in the TOS forum decide what episode gets aired.

Oh, my father in-law loves TOS. I have watched it in his house in Brazil, broadcast in Portuguese. Good stuff.

(btw, my wife and mother in-law think we're nuts!)

Oh, I've mentioned this before and I'll do it again. The episode is watched DURING preparation in the kitchen. I have a 9" flip down dvd/tv.

I DO NOT watch it with dinner. This is all about personal, Trek, cooking time. A couple cold ones, sampling the sauce and Italian bread, etc.

I can't watch it with dinner as my wife hasn't been "converted" yet. Lol.

Easy choice for me..Balance of Terror. Only problem is it's such an absorbing, intense episode it might detract from the happy interaction in the kitchen.

BTW, I vote for the thin spaghetti. (I know we only get to vote on the episode...)

Thx Mike. Maybe I should start including that in the polls. I usually like to rotate them every other week though.

Offer is open for any TOS fan to join us (and I'm serious).

TOS fan reporting for duty.
It's gotta be Space Seed. The men enjoy Khan for his masculinity... and the ladies enjoy Khan for his magnetism.

Point taken, but the ladies aren't ALLOWED to watch! Only men cooking this time around. Hmm, maybe the wife plans it that way?

Balance of Terror is one of my top three all-time faves, so it's a no-brainer. Still, Space Seed is a close second.

you're making pasta for Brazilians? Isn't there something more close to their culture?

forgive my ignorance, don't they eat Portuguese food? Fantastic cuisine if so. Used to love those little pork sandwiches (ssh don't tell).

I'd pick Space Seed. So....sexy. Okay, it's you're relatives, but all the Brazilians I've known were sexy.

Thx for the reply. They speak Portuguese but the food is distinctly Brazilian there. They're staying with us for six weeks and they want to try some things we have here, hence the pasta. It's actually going to be stuffed shells!

The typical Brazilian bbq is called a chuhasco. Many meats, fish, chicken, linguisa, etc.. all grilled open flame. Fantastic. I've been to Brazil three times and it's a great experience.

Anyway, they are my wife's parents, but you're right on as far as their beauty. My wife is 30 and smokin hot. Her sister is newly single, 24, lives in Sao Paulo, very sweet, and is a complete Godess. 5'10" 150- Email? lol.

I'm the goofball who voted for "Devil in the Dark," mostly because that's what you might think about the in-laws after six weeks with them. ;)

Balance of Terror is my favorite of those, but I picked Space Seed for the sake of your wife and her mother. That's before I read your second post. I thought Space Seed would be more interesting for them.
