Braindead is confused as to who Braindead is.

I can't say I've looked at Michael Moore enough to be sure, but I did wonder during those scenes.

You can't change who your eskimo brothers are.

As soon as they said that Anne Coulter's politics make her undesirable to liberals, I remembered someone here getting hammered for being a sexist jerk for saying something similar, but opposite a few weeks ago.

Gareth doesn't like Moore's politics.

If he had a problem with his dating pool getting it on with old fat white dudes, then he should move to LA.

I've watched Braindead over the last couple of weeks, and at first i loved it - straight away just loved the vibe, and I'm a big fan of the Good Wife which helped. It was an odd mix, but it worked!

The satire is awesome - the scene where they're discussing naming the concession stand was just pure brilliance. It was just like a comment section on a website where every one is outraged by everything.

But for all my liking it, I found my interest started to wane - about episode eight I was less eager to watch it. And by the end of the season came I didn't care too much what happened.

I feel they played a lot of cards that could have been played later (like the main character getting infected herself). And everyone was infested around them... there was no slow build up. So it just felt over quite quickly dramatically. Then the satire/politics which I loved, didn't get so much airtime due to the bug stuff.

Not sure how they'll cope with a season two... for me this would have been a great ten episode one-off. I'm not sure I have the desire to watch more.

There's unlikeliy to be a second season due to ratings and the Kings' workload (they're more involved with the Good Wife spinoff now than they had intended to be), which is unfortunate because I really liked the characters. According to an interview, the second season was going to be about the bugs invading Wall Street; that's why we see in the coda that Luke left the Senate and went into finance. But they wrapped the season up in such a way that it could stand by itself.

Yes, luckily there was no major cliffhanger, because the ratings were pretty weak even for a Summer show. I think the only thing that could save it is if they decide to use CBS streaming for niche programming that doesn't pull in a network audience. It will be worth getting the DVDs, though, to rewatch somewhere down the line.

For some reason I thought there was a season two... I have no idea where I got this notion, as a quick search online can't seem to find much.

I think that's good in a way... it told its story. Sadly that may seem like a failure, but i'd rather have more short, imaginative shows than can come, do their thing and go.

And the ending was classic horror ending... just hint that it's not all over yet.

Just reading an article now... I like the line: "The tendency in TV is to preach to the choir, to talk to your own side and get your own side riled up. You see that with most late-night comedy. There’s a tendency to speak to the left wing and preach to someone who already agrees with you."

I loved the satire around that too, and it's something I notice that's particularly bad about America. I liked in the show how they had a comedian saying very little but the whole audience laughing as they didn't care what it was, as long as it was mockery.

Yeah, that's what has created the culture of increasing extremism. Everybody's isolated in their own little echo chamber, cranking the noise up to 11... 12... 13....
