I just watched Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva, the first move in the Bollywood's big cinematic universe, The Astraverse, and I thought it was a lot of fun. I thought it did a pretty good job of introducing this new universe, but without losing it's focus on it's own story.
The idea behind the Astraverse, is that there are all sorts of ancient magic weapons called Astras and it looks like the movies and shows, will focus on members of the Bramansh, who all wield different Astras.
This first movie focuses on Shiva, a Mumbai DJ who finds himself pulled into a conflict between good and evil Astra wielders, and discovers he has a bigger destiny than he ever imagined.
It was a lot of fun, it had some likeable characters, some pretty cool action sequences, and since it was a Bollywood movie, it had some really fun musical numbers.
Definitely looking to seeing Part 2: Dev, and any other future movies and shows we get in the universe.
