So, got the BR/DVD combopack, since that's the only BR available in the Netherlands, and it says on the back that the BR is 132 minutes, with the dvd being 127.

Anyone know what's up with that?

Wow.... I didn't think there was any extra footage, since I couldn't spot anything new while watching, and we would've known if there was. And I had heard of this speed-up, just never knew it could be this much of a difference.

You can't really notice the action taking place 4% faster, but you most certainly can hear the increase in pitch - which is approximately half a semitone higher.

When buying my Star Trek DVD boxsets, I would always import the US editions for this reason. Correct sound pitch was always preferable - despite the sometimes distracting "jerkiness" of NTSC 3:2 pulldown.

I hate PAL speedup so I use ReClock to watch my old PAL DVDs at 24fps with the correct pitch.
