Bought a used Gamecube game... having issues on my Wii

So today I picked up a copy of MVP Baseball 2005 for Gamecube from Gamestop (I've really been into playing sports games lately... especially those with create-a-player). $6.99's a pretty damn good price!

Anyways, I was able to create players and put them all on my favorite team (the Royals) and play a couple "Play Now" games against the computer with no problem. So then I moved on to Dynasty mode and right as I was about to begin the first game of the season... I got "An error has occured" and it told me to check the Gamecube manual. That's of no help to me, as 1. this is a Wii and 2. the manual usually says in that situation to try again and if it happens again call Nintendo.

So I take out the disc and check it to see if that's the problem and put it in again. Same situation... and a "Game disc could not be read" error. Took the disc out, cleaned it properly (VERY minor scratches on it, btw, but I've seen worse discs that could still play just fine)... and the same damn thing happens!!! Now I'm getting the error in more places, too, like after I finished another "Play Now" game.

WTF is up with this game? I think my other Gamecube games still work (or at least they did this weekend...)

Help?

The scratches could be the issue if all your other Cube games play fine. You might want to take it back and see if they have another copy.

My Mario Kart: Double Dash disc has never worked in my Wii. It works fine in my Gamecube still, but the Wii just gives me some kind of error message.

Stupid Nintendo.

Nintendo is obviously attempting to whitewash history by pretending that Double Dash never existed. It's like the Japanese response to World War II writ small.

It's the game considering that a GameCube itself is built into every Wii.

Return game = problem solved.

You either live in KC, or your standards for liking baseball teams are pretty low. ;)

Baby Park is awesome.

As a cure for insomnia, yeah. The pussification of Mario Kart that began in Double Dash echoes that of the Japanese military post-1945.

It really does. In too many ways to count.

My parents were born and raised in KC (I wasn't due to dad being in the Air Force). I grew up a Royals fan (and a Chiefs fan).

My other favorite team is the Blue Jays, but only because my softball team was named after them and we were undefeated during my last year playing.
